TaeHyun was born in Stanford, California. He received his B.S in Biological Sciences and Ph.D in Neuroscience from Seoul National University. His graduate work in the Kaang lab was centered around discovering how a specific mutation in the PTPN11 gene can cause a developmental disorder known as Noonan syndrome. Also, he discovered the functional role of Cd38 and Mib2 gene in learning and memory. He joined Tsai lab in 2018, and is interested in expanding GENUS treatment to other neurological diseases other than Alzheimer’s disease.
