Shannon received her BA in Neuroscience and Biochemistry from Kenyon College (2016) and her PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Michigan (2022). During her PhD studies, Shannon developed stem cell models of Fragile X-associated disorders and studied pathogenic mechanisms of repeat-associated non-AUG (RAN) translation. She joined the Tsai Lab as a postdoc in 2022 and is interested in using stem cells to investigate the mechanisms by which glial cells influence neurodegeneration.
