Roberta is a biologist with a keen interest in gut-brain communication and its implications for health and disease. Her academic journey began at Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil, where she described the role of the vagus nerve in hepatic phagocytic activity and organizing the gut circadian rhythms, culminating in a Master’s and PhD in Physiology. Next, Roberta joined Mass General Brigham as a Postdoctoral Fellow, focusing on the maternal gut-brain axis and its influence on neurodevelopmental disorders. She joined the Tsai Lab, in May 2025, to investigate Gamma Entrainment Using Sensory stimuli as a therapy for Down Syndrome.
