Md Rezaul Islam
Postdoctoral Associate

Reza earned his BSc and MSc in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, and later completed his MSc and PhD in Neuroscience at the International Max Planck Research School for Neurosciences in Göttingen, Germany. As a PhD student in Prof Andre Fischer´s lab, Reza investigated the role of epigenetics in the differing contexts of cognitive deficits (e.g., aging, schizophrenia, cardiac failure, Alzheimer´s disease) and cognitive benefits (e.g., exercise). He joined the Tsai lab as an EMBO long-term postdoctoral fellow in October 2021, and is interested in applying integrative systems biology approaches to advance our understanding of the mechanisms of Alzheimer´s disease pathology.
