Martin joined the Tsai Lab as a La Caixa Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow in the summer of 2020. During his PhD studies at Oxford University, he explored the bidirectional interactions between neural plasticity and brain oscillations during sleep, as well as the hypothalamic circuits that control sleep and arousal. In the Tsai Lab, Martin studies brainstem circuits in Alzheimer’s Disease. These circuits are very early targets in the disease and have strong links to cognition, sleep, and autonomous brain functions.
