Liwang holds an MD and an MPH. He works in the lab as a Research Scientist with an electrophysiological and ion channel biology background. Before coming to MIT in 2018, he held a faculty position at University of Massachusetts Medical School. Liwang is interested in understanding the brain areas, circuits, and ion channels underlying neurodegeneration diseases and drug addiction. ​
