Hiba Nawaid
Technical Associate

Hiba joined the Tsai Lab in January 2023 after graduating from Mount Holyoke College with a BA in Biology. As an undergraduate, Hiba worked with Dr. Kimberly Tremblay at U. Mass. Amherst to characterize the roles of embryonically lethal genes as part of the cross-institutional Knock-Out Mouse Phenotyping project. Following this, she investigated how hippocampal inactivation altered reward-seeking behavior in rats with Dr. AndrĂ© White at MHC. In the Tsai Lab, she is investigating circuit-specific pathologies in the Alzheimer’s Disease and the effect of gamma entrainment on brain waste clearance systems. Hiba is passionate about exploring how both genetic factors and environmental influences contribute to neurodegenerative pathologies.
