Lorenzo received his Ph.D. in neuroscience from Georgetown University in August 2019, and began his postdoc in the lab shortly after. During his Ph.D. he investigated HIV-induced alterations in neuronal activity by focusing on proteases involved in the degradation of perineuronal nets. In the Tsai Lab, Lorenzo is investigating whether gamma entrainment can be utilized to reverse aging phenotypes. He is particularly interested in how gamma oscillations relate to neuro-immune function as well as glial physiology.
