Janna graduated from the University of Washington in 2023 with a degree in Neuroscience. As a Shanahan Fellow at the Allen Institute, she conducted quantitative analyses of post-mortem brain tissue to quantify Alzheimer’s progression, focusing on the role of the hippocampus in neuropathology using Bayesian statistics. Additionally, she conducted wet lab research at Seattle Children’s Hospital on hippocampal neurogenesis in the spiny mouse. She is now interested in translating neurodegenerative disease research from mouse models into human therapeutics.
