Fatema is a research technician in Li-Huei Tsai’s Lab at MIT’s Picower Institute for Learning and Memory. She studied at Boston University, where she completed a dual degree B.A. in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology and English/M.A. in Biotechnology. Since graduating, Fatema has been committed to uncovering mechanisms of disease and contributing to treatments through research in both industry and academia. She was part of the Cardiovascular and Metabolic diseases department at Pfizer, where she validated candidate Type II diabetes drugs. Fatema then joined the Tsai lab where she has been applying her knowledge of cell biology to neuroscience, focusing on non-invasive sensory stimulation therapy (GENUS) for Alzheimer’s disease and Chemo Brain.
